Notes
Alright, let's be honest here, IMO, if you are looking for the OG Blueberry, look NO further than Medicine Flower. Quite frankly, it's about as perfect as you can get, and, I 10/10'd it.
I hesitated to even sully it (hehe) with any enhancers, BUT, in the spirit of the Base/Stone Mix-A-Long, I will sully it, none the less.
As stated, Blueberry MF is a complete blueberry, right out of the gate. Adding a hint of FA Bilberry adds just a touch of darker notes, and a hint of wild-ness to the mix. TPA's Blueberry Wild, while a somewhat weaker flavor, does actually impart some more wild-ness into the overall mx. This was/is important, as the MF BB has a very rounded total blueberry flavor, along with a slight musky-ness, which completely works. The addition of the darker, and wild notes, simply works to enhance the MF BB.
And on to the finishing touches. Citric Acid is a not entirely wildly known trick for enhancing fruits. I typically use MF Lemon to do the same thing, but in this case, I chose to simply stick with just a little punch from the CA. The Purilum Super Sweet, while still SUC based, presents as much cleaner than CAP's SS, and it is simply there, not because the blueberry needs to be sweeter, but to help light up your flavor receptors, and open then up, for the full on blueberry ONRUSH !!!!
The overall concept, was that since MF BB is so good by itself, to enhance it only, but not get in it's way LOL. It is actually a very "rich" blueberry. Hints of darker notes, and some of the wild notes are simply accents, not a push/pull or meant to shift it at all. EM, which works very good with fruits, and doesn't mute if used correctly, does have an almost caramelized, or somewhat brown sugar profile, so SUC was used instead.
****** EDIT, if you do not have a Citric Acid PG solution, you can SUB Medicine Flower Lemon @ 1d/10ml, or your choice of Lemon. CAP Juicy Lemon @ 2d/10ml would also work.
Want to try this and mix it up as a recipe, please feel free .....
