This is a attempt at making a cinnamon roll using only FLV flavors for June, 2020 Mixing With A Vision Challenge (DIY Downunder Facebook group)
Cinnamon Roll - this is a good cinnamon roll concentrate to me it's a great start for a cinnamon roll. To me this tastes a lot like the cinnamon swirl in a fresh cinnamon roll. It needs help in the bakery and frosting department.
Fried dough - I'm using this to add a yeast note. Fair warning Do Not get carried away with this concentrate its unbelievably strong. I have heard people explain it as a yeast infected belly button at 1%
Frosting - this is what I'm using for the gooey top frosting again this is a strong concentrate and for me it takes a few days to taste right it has almost a dry taste but steeps out for me at about 3 to 5 days.
Rich Cinnamon - This is be all end all of bakery cinnamon using this to add to the cinnamon note that cinnamon roll has. This taste different to me the the cinnamon used in Flavorah cinnamon roll this has quit a bit more depth to me.
(Cap) Super Sweet - I was going to use Flavorah Sweetness but I finished off my bottle before I got around to this. I have had a package from Chefs that has been stuck in customs for the last two weeks with a bottle of Sweetness in it. I will be replacing the Super Sweet with it next time I mix it.
Sweet Dough - this is for the body of the cinnamon roll. This a nice thick chewy dough flavor to me, It also has a dark sweetness.
After two days I'm shocked at how good this turned out. 9 out of every 10 all FLV recipes I make are a hot dumpster fire. My only complaint is it's very sweet, like commercial level sweet, sugar lips and all. Hopefully my order from Chefs will be here soon so I can replace the Super Sweet with Sweetness, I may just try and remove sweetener all together as the frosting may be enough.
5-25-2020 mixed a 30ml minus the Super Sweet and another using FLV Strawberry Filling @ 1.25% and no sweetener. though it may taste like one of those cinnamon rolls with the strawberry filling swirl.
6-17-2020 got around to trying both new versions. The version minus the Super Sweet is much more to my liking, it's not overly commercial sweet like the first version. Its a nice lightly sweet doughy cinnamon roll. I'm going to go ahead and leave the super sweet in the recipe, it can be mixed with out it if sugar lips type of juice is not your thing. I also tasted the version with the strawberry filling, it's a no go. It feels like it needs another strawberry backing it. I just got FLV strawberry smash I may try adding that to see what happens.
7-20-2020 got around to vaping the version without super sweet again. It has held up well and even got better siting for a month. I went ahead and removed super sweet from the recipe all together as for my taste I do not feel its needed, it actually seems like its more complex with out it. If you enjoy sweet juice by all means add it at whatever percent you prefer.
I would say this is definitely better after a good steep so like 14 days plus. My girlfriend said it tastes to her like the center of a cinnamon roll, the soft doughy center.
If you mix this by all means leave me some input.
